To many “the Church” is just a physical building. But the word “church” comes from the Greek word “ecclesia” and is defined as “meeting” or “the called out ones.” The main concept of the church is not the building, but people. According to the Bible, the church is the Body of Christ, i.e., those who believe in Jesus as their Savior (John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 12:13). Members of t local churches all over the world together make up the Universal church (the Body of Christ).
